In the recently concluded football season, Tottenham Hotspur admirably took on the challenge of playing in Europe’s elite club competition while fighting the domestic battle to retain their spot in the top four in the English Premier League. For a while it looked like a fairy tale as the club reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League after defeating continental giants AC Milan, who went on to clinch the Serie A title.

However, the end-of-season script had a more believable feel to it as reality took over, and Spurs finished outside the top four.

The North London club have made a huge effort to reach the Champions League spots, but having fallen out, face a huge task to challenge for them again.
