EXCLUSIVE: Interview With India Coach Armando Colaco

The current India coach has managed Dempo for the past 11 years with huge success, guiding them to multiple league and cup triumphs. He has recently been appointed coach of India for a four-month period, and talks EXCLUSIVELY to 90 Minutes about this plan for his tenure, the possibility of an extension, and his vision for Indian football in the long term.

Do you see the current Indian Arrows team as the nucleus of the national side in the future? Will you now try to experiment in the coming games to blood these youngsters, like the one against UAE?

Armando: Definitely, they will be the nucleus. In my first press conference as India coach, I said that Indian Arrows in the best thing that has happened to Indian football. They have been taught to play as a unit, and play committed football. I am lucky that they will form the nucleus of my team, along with the senior players. But I will change the style in which they play. Not kick and run, but to control the ball, pass, and move….
