Indian Team In Safe Hands!

When 20,000-odd fanatics stood up, in the pouring rain, and sang the national anthem in unison along with the Indian team on the pitch, all seemed well with Indian football. The moment when the national anthem ended and a huge roar went up all around the ground was hair-raising, and the players didn’t disappoint, as they ran their legs off for 90 minutes, egged on by what is surely the best football audience in the country.

And that’s what the Ambedkar Stadium in New Delhi does to you. It makes you forget about all the problems in Indian football that are discussed all year long, and just enjoy and celebrate watching the Indian team play….
